Connecting Passion with Purpose: The Story Behind Jane — Legacy in Every Shade

Most people know Dan Jansen as an Olympic Gold Medalist, World Champion speed skater, coach, motivational speaker, and advocate for healthy living. Yet one of the most meaningful parts of his legacy extends far beyond the ice.

For more than three decades, the Dan Jansen Foundation has been dedicated to helping children and families facing serious medical challenges through fundraising, community partnerships, and charitable initiatives. The mission began with someone very special to Dan and his family—his sister, Jane Jansen Beres.

Jane lost her battle with leukemia at a young age, but her spirit, courage, and compassion continue to inspire everyone who knew her. Her story became the foundation for a cause that has helped countless families over the years and remains a deeply personal part of Dan’s life today.

As we continue building Jansen Eyewear, we often reflect on what kind of company we want to create. While performance, innovation, and design are important, we believe the most meaningful brands are ultimately about people and the impact they have on others.

The Jane Collection was born from that belief.

Named in honor of Jane Jansen Beres, the collection was inspired by the values she embodied throughout her life—hope, resilience, kindness, and love. It represents a commitment to carrying those values forward while supporting the ongoing work of the Dan Jansen Foundation.

For us, the Jane Collection is about much more than launching a new product. It is about honoring a life that continues to inspire and supporting a mission that continues to make a difference.

As we prepare for the launch of the Jane Collection this July, we are proud to share not only a new collection, but the story and purpose behind it.

Jane: Legacy in Every Shade was created to celebrate the values Jane embodied and the impact she continues to have through the foundation that bears her name. More than eyewear, this collection serves as a reminder that one person’s life can continue to inspire others long after they are gone.

A portion of proceeds from the Jane Collection will support the ongoing mission of the Dan Jansen Foundation and its work on behalf of children and families in need.
